The Home League is part of the Home and Family Ministries and meet at 2pm on Mondays.
Originally the Home League was the Salvation Army's Women's Meeting, and, when it was formed in the early 1900's its mission was to support wives and mothers within a Christian Fellowship, and promote home-making skills, budgeting and hygiene.
Nowadays, the Home League is open to men as well as women, and has a weekly meeting (which always starts with tea and biscuits!) where there will be singing, talks from visiting speakers, music items, quizzes, craft demonstrations and a scripture reading and message.
The Home League also support the Salvation Army's Helping Hands Appeal, which raises money for projects in developing countries.
Recently a bric-a-brac and baking stall, organised by Mattie Orr, has raised £800 for Ayrshire Cancer Support and Artistic Creations.
Sheila Bennett has recently retired as Home League Secretary
Being a Home League Member, does not mean that you are a member of the Salvation Army - members of several other Churches, and others who are not affiliated to any Church attend the Home League.
